About At-Home Accessibility
What We Do
Here at, At-Home Accessibility we create ADA-compliant, accessible renovations and room additions as well as ramps, stairlifts, and any number of options designed to increase mobility. Our staff includes licensed contractors that specialize in giving our clients the ability to live and stay in the comfort of their own homes following an injury or age related issue which would normally place certain limitations on their movement. The freedom to live in the comfort of your own home is important to you and we go out of our way to accomodate that.
Building Community
Our family business has been providing the Michiana community with high quality personal service for over 20 years. Being locally owned and operated has offered us a unique perspective. We know what it's like to have a spouse or family member who is mobility challenged. We also understand the day-to-day frustrations associated with environments that are less than handicap friendly. That's why we analyze each customer's particular needs so that we can provide effective solutions for each unique challenge.
No job is too big or too small
Whether you need a ramp, doorway modification, or an entire room addition our experienced team of professionals is ready to address your specific needs. And we guarantee all of our work. We're not satisfied until you are. Grant and his staff understand the unique set of challenges facing many of our customers. Give us a call today and let us make your home more accessible. Stay in the home you love.
AGING IN PLACE
Aging in place is a term used to describe a person living in the residence of their choice, for as long as they are able, as they age. The comment we hear most from our At-Home Accessibility customers, is that they want to stay in the home they love for as long as they can. At-Home Accessibility can make that happen.
CAPS
One of the co-owners, of At-Home Accessibility is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). He has been trained how to assess your home for safety, accessibility and mobility. He and his team know what it takes to make the changes needed to make your home safe and accessible. And the barrier-free living spaces At-Home Accessibility designs and builds are as beautiful as they are functional.
At-Home Accessibility is a member of the National Home Builders Association and the Home Builders Association of St. Joseph Valley. In addition, working with a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, gives you the confidence and assurance that the job will be done right.
Reviews
Just over four years ago, we had a chairlift installed to our basement. No one wants to spend thousands on disability products and for many of us, they were never in our plans. But my lift has worked great and made it completely safe to get to our basement. The three times when I’ve needed to have this company remove the lift temporarily (to receive new furniture for the basement, to remove an old water heater & have a new one installed, and to remove & replace carpeting on the stairs), I didn’t know how much the charge would be until the work was completed. The amount of $100 seemed somewhat random and kind of expensive to me, but I needed it done. Suddenly the third time it went up to $175, which actually seemed more in line with the task and time it required. Just beware and ask upfront. I wasn’t thinking about getting the lift removed, when we first bought it.
“A la carte” charges

I was very pleased with the work that At Home Accessibility did in my home. I appreciated the phone calls telling me what time the crew planned to arrive the next morning. They were prompt, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves.
